Davide Dall'Osso
Davide Dall’Osso, born in Pesaro in 1966, is an Italian sculptor who transitioned from a successful career in theater to become a prominent figure in contemporary sculpture. After graduating in 1995 from the Civica Scuola d’Arte Drammatica Paolo Grassi in Milan, he worked as a stage actor, collaborating with renowned directors such as Luca Ronconi, Piero Maccarinelli, and Enrique Vargas. These theatrical experiences profoundly influenced his artistic vision, fostering a deep understanding of space, body, and materiality.
In 1999, Dall’Osso fully embraced sculpture as his primary form of expression, utilizing industrial plastic waste, such as polycarbonate and plexiglass, alongside recycled metals like wire and mesh. His commitment to sustainability and circular economy principles defines his artistic practice. His sculptures, ranging from dynamic equine figures to evocative feminine forms, symbolize the spiritual and emotional forces of contemporary humanity.
Dall’Osso’s works are notable for their interplay of light, space, and material, reflecting his theatrical roots. Each piece is both an object of art and a narrative, often inspired by poetry and dramaturgy. In 2020, he and his partner Maria Vittoria Gozio relocated their Atelier Dall’Osso to Castelfiorentino, dedicating a section to "Materia Futuro," a space promoting sustainability through art education and the creative reuse of plastic waste.
His career includes significant exhibitions in Italy and abroad, such as the 54th Venice Biennale, and installations at venues like Palazzo Medici Riccardi in Florence, EXPO Milano 2015, and the Palio di Siena. His work is displayed in prestigious museums and public spaces worldwide, from Milan to New York, Singapore, and beyond.
Through his unique blend of artistic and environmental advocacy, Davide Dall’Osso continues to redefine the boundaries of contemporary sculpture.
